shirley Crochet crop top Freebies online offers. This Crocchet a great pattern!! The omitted slip stitch in the pattern seriously messed me up and left me with a slit on the side. When I did the ribbing, I still went from one triangle to the next, ignoring the slit and just leaving it there.

Did you end up stitching it, and if so how did it work out? She still did not make correction in the written instructions. It also does not say to turn your work before you start making round.

Hello, I love this pattern, thank you. Could you play ease tell me what size the gauge 15 sc by 21 rows using 5mm hookshould measure.

I want to make your I have the right yarn weight. Thank you. Everybody complaining, seriously. This is a FREE pattern. And she made a whole video on youtube to go with it. again FREE. This is a lovely pattern and i cant wait to try it.

Ive tried your sweater pattern and its so amazing so far but i ran outnof yarn and havent been able to finish it but i love it so far. I have a question about the waistband. Could you tell me the length in cm? Do you think that would work? Hello Noah! How did it go? Did you make it work?

I would also like the back better straight, but since i am new to crochet i thought i should just stick with the original pattern. Please let me know if it works better so i know whether i should try to make it straight or not. Sorry for my english i am from Slovakia 😉 Thanks, Klaudia. Same here, Klaudia!

Hi all, not the original poster but I tried something similar. I kept the back straight, elongated the straps out of the triangles and attached those each to the straight back.

This worked out perfectly. The only thing that was a bit more fuss was attaching the ribbed sides on the outer end of the triangles to the straight back. This worked out well.

I wish I could attach a photo here to show you but hope this helps a bit already. Good luck and have fun making it! This can affect the gauge and become too loose or too tight or just make it wavy if your gauge changes throughout. Make sure from now on you check your gauge before you start and adjust it as needed.

Thank you so much. And your video was so helpful for use visual learners…. At rows of the band it only went half way round my daughter so I kept going till it fit in hindsight maybe mistake, but when I changed to the 5mm hook it stretched it out hugely.

What am I doing wrong? Finished it this evening, but the straps are way too long. I used the same hook size, and yarn type. Even did the gauge, just the straps are almost 4 inches too long.

I thought they looked too long when I was making it, but I will have to go back and cut away and redo them. Everything else fits great at least. Would definitely test the straps before fully putting together, rookie mistake on my part a I have made other Carrie patterns before. Love the pattern and video.

Do you have this pattern in an extra small? Also I would love the printable version. Thanks so much. Am I using too small of a yarn? I elongated the shoulder straps from the front triangles to reach the flat back you should try it on to see how long they should be, for me it was 70 rows for a small.

This worked out well for me. I wish I could attach a picture to show the result but I hope this helps already. It is hard to follow if you lose your spot, especially when most of the rows have repeating instructions. What are the dimension of the sizes?

I have looked everywhere to see what the bust size is the different sizes. Kinda disappointing. Hi Kiwi!

I actually had the same problem and was getting frustrated, but I kept going. Come to realize… the slip stitches actually go on the side and not the back almost how most formal wear has side zippers. thank you i really enjoyed this project!

the only thing i had a problem with was at the end the part below the armpits sticks out a bit and bugs me. still, not super noticable and it looks pretty nice! I have made 3 of these tops it is truly a great pattern.

Hi I really liked the pattern, when I tried it on though the ribbing around the armholes looked off and a bit annoying. Overall I really liked it though and i just tucked the ribbing in. Your email address will not be published.

My daughter will definitely prefer the tighter fit so do you think this mix of fibres will be work? Many thanks! It's probably due to either your single crochets being too loose or your half double crochets are too tight. If your waist to bust ratio is relatively close, then it won't be a huge problem.

If your waist is small relative to your bust, your top will probably still fit but it won't be form fitting at the waist. Thank you so much for this guide. Also worried it might be too warm for summer.. Thank you for being an amazing teacher!!! Because math is hard, if I had a 32 inch bust and a 27 inch waist what size should I use?

I absolutely love this pattern and I would like to make it correctly the first time. Thank you! I have the same measurements as yours, how did you go about your stitches? Until now, I'm still in doubt on how many chains I should do. Will it work the same since it has some stretch to it?

Will Truboo retain its shape after wash? Hi, in the beginning, you say to make 21 stitches of rubbing.

Thus is my second ever crotchet project and I'm only in the ribbing, but I still managed to need to undo it and redo it 5 times but I'm really determined to do this 🙂 How long did it take you?

I am crocheting my daughter your pattern in a size small. Does it take one or three skeins of yarn? Thank you for your help! I love your blogs and videos! I'm from the Philippines, btw 🙂. I don't see where the measurements and sizes for the Top Waist and Top Bust are used. Could you please clarify?

My other niece has 38 bust and Is this correct? When do we use the Top Waist and Top Bust measurements? Hello, I made rows as you recommend for the waist in the video but they are too many for my waist that measures 74 cm, what can I do? hI, I'm a beginner and I have few questions, is the gauge either 17,5 stitches wide x 18 rows tall in back loop single cr or 15 stiches wide x 13 row tall in half double corchet?

unless I didn't understand this bit I did 15 stitches in 13row in half double crochet and it's 4cm too small, should I change my hook or is it that i didn't do it properly from the beginning? And about the sizing, i'm 95cm bust and 72cm waist, how do I which size to follow?

the measurements sheet it's very easy to understand to me and I even bought the pattern thinking it would be clearer but it's not, please can you help?

To tell when to stop, hold the band piece directly below your breasts. You can make this portion of the crop top as long or short as you like.

For a longer crop top band, work up to about 10 rows. Make the first decreasing row to begin the halter portion. Don't chain a stitch when you reach the end of the row. Instead, turn the work and skip the first stitch. Then, single crochet in every stitch across the row. The decreasing stitches make diagonal sides that form the halter-style top.

Then, you can attach them to the band that you just finished. Turn the work and crochet decreasing rows until you've finished the neckline.

Continue to skip the first stitch of every row and make a single crochet into the rest of the stitches for the row. This creates the halter portion that covers your breasts and becomes the neckline.

Keep doing this until the neckline is as high as you want. To help you get an idea of the size, hold the piece up against your torso frequently.

Part 3. Make a strap that's to chains long. Don't cut the yarn when you finish crocheting the body. When you reach the end of your last row, which is the neckline, start making a long chain that you'll use to wrap and wear the crop top.

For a larger size, work closer to chains. Slip stitch back through each of the chains to create a thicker strap. To make the strap sturdier and more comfortable, insert your hook back through the last chain you made.

Wrap your yarn around the hook and pull it through the loops to make a slip stitch. Keep slip stitching through each of the chains until you reach the neckline where you started the strap. Single crochet across the neckline to reach the end of the row. Instead of cutting the yarn to begin another strap, just make 1 single crochet stitch into every stitch across the neckline.

Crochet an identical strap. Chain up another strap that's the same length as the opposite one you made. Then, slip stitch back through it as you did with the other one. Remember to make the same number of chains so the straps are even. Pull each strap through the bottom at the opposite corner.

Lay the crop top so it's face down and take 1 of the straps. Pull it diagonally across the crop top. Repeat this for the other strap so they both form an X shape. Then, push your hook from the underside of the top through the bottom corner and grab a strap.

Pull the strap through and repeat this for the other side. You Might Also Like. How to. It would be considered a medium difficulty project. This one may be difficult for beginners to try. Choose a skein of worsted weight yarn in any color. Get out a skein of yarn that's 4. You can use any type of yarn you like, but pick yarn that's soft so your crop top is comfortable to wear.

Keep in mind that you won't use all of the skein. If you'd like a soft, cotton crop top, choose a cotton-synthetic blend so it holds its shape. Make a slip knot and slide it onto a US size H-8 5 mm crochet hook. Pull about 6 inches 15 cm of yarn from the skein and wrap it around 2 of your fingers.

Pinch this loop so the working yarn hangs behind it. Push your crochet hook into the loop and grab the working yarn with the hook. Then, pull so the slip knot slides onto the hook.

Keep in mind that loose stitches make the crop top see-through, so you'd want to wear something underneath the top. Stretch the measuring tape across your torso from 1 side to the other.

Hold the end of a measuring tape on the side of your ribcage where you'd like the crop top to fall and stretch it to the opposite side of your ribcage.

Write this number down so you know how long to make your foundation chain for the bottom of the crop top. Then, refer to this measurement as you crochet the body. Don't twist the measuring tape or your foundation row will be too long. If you're having trouble measuring, ask a friend to help you!

Make a foundation chain that's as long as your measurement. To make a chain, wrap your yarn around the hook and pull the hook through the loop. Since there's no need to count chains, but you do need to stop and measure the chain as you work.

Keep making chains until the foundation chain is as long as the measurement you just took. Hold the foundation chain across your torso from 1 side of your ribcage to the other. This helps you check if the bottom of the halter covers your torso the way you want.

For example, you may need to chain 19 inches 48 cm for your crop top foundation. This would make a medium-sized crop top. Part 2. Single crochet into every chain of your foundation row.

To make a single crochet SC stitch, put your hook into the chain that's closest to your hook. Grab the working yarn with your hook and pull it onto the hook. Then, wrap the yarn around the hook and pull it through both of the loops.

Continue to make a single crochet stitch into each of the chains on the row. Make 1 chain and turn your work. When you reach the end of the first row, wrap the yarn around your hook and pull up the loop to make a chain. Then, flip the piece of crocheted fabric over so you can start crocheting the next row.

Work single crochet stitches across the row until the band is the size you want. Keep making 1 SC into each stitch and crocheting 1 chain when you reach the end of a row.

Then, stop once this band covers as much of your torso as you like. To tell when to stop, hold the band piece directly below your breasts. You can make this portion of the crop top as long or short as you like. For a longer crop top band, work up to about 10 rows.
